Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Marketing will lead a small team responsible for marketing activities for a product line of new assays and platforms in the IVD market. Your group will lead the process from concept definition to commercialization, working on a global basis. This is a critical assignment where you will develop the commercial strategies and launch plans for innovative tests that diagnose infectious disease. Specific duties include identifying target customer segments in different regions around the world and defining features and competitive advantages for pipeline products, as well as positioning, budgeting and forecasting for those products.
This is a strategic assignment where you will serve as the "voice of the customer" and collaborate closely with colleagues in R&D, Business Development, Sales and Finance to develop plans for new product development. Working with country managers, you will also map the product life cycle for the newly launched products in different regions. You will coordinate marketing activities with the sales force and as the company further penetrates international markets you will also be asked to research global distribution options and to monitor competitive trends in those markets. Their rapid rate of expansion means that significant opportunities exist for career advancement and professional development.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- 7+ years of marketing experience in clinical diagnostics or with assays used in Molecular Biology applications.
- Diagnostic marketing experience in infectious disease, blood screening, or in-vitro diagnostics is preferred; some global or international marketing experience is required
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or better in a scientific discipline; MBA preferred
